Attitudes For Prayer: Forgiveness: Come to the Father asking for forgiveness for your sins, and in forgiveness of others. Praise: Praise ushers us into the presence of the Father. In the presence of the Father, His enemies cannot stand. Faith: Don't waver. Believe that God is able to accomplish what He says He will do. Submission: Jesus said, "Not My will, but Thine be done." Jesus Himself submitted to the Father ... how much more so should we! Sincerity: Seek Him from your whole heart, sincerely and in truth. He knows everything about you anyway, including your heart. Humility: The Lord resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Be still and know that He is God. Obedience: The demons know who Jesus is, but they shudder. Knowing truth and DOING it are two different things. Be obedient to the commands of the Lord. Thankfulness: For all He has done, be grateful. When you do nice things for others, don't you like to be thanked? How To Pray: Your prayers do not have to be long-winded, or said perfectly. In fact, most Scriptural references to prayer indicate that short, concise prayers are perfectly acceptable and pleasing to the Lord. Prayers can be oral, or silent from the heart. And prayer should be said not only in our understanding, but in the Spirit as well. The Lord's example for prayer: Our Father, who art in Heaven Hallowed be Thy name Thy kingdom come Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory Forever! AMEN! (Matthew 6: 9 - 13)

Prayer: God is omnipresent (everywhere at all times). He's omnipotent (all powerful). And He's omniscient (all knowing). He doesn't NEED us. But He WANTS us! He created us, He loves us, and He wants relationship with us. We could not have relationship with Him, or with each other, without some type of interaction between us. Prayer is simply communication with God. Prayer (communication) involves speaking and listening. Our prayers are important to God. He keeps them in golden vials, and charges His angels to guard them. He wants us to pray always. Prayers are also important to and for us. We were created for relationship. Could any relationship be sustained without some type of interaction? Of course not. This is especially true in the case of our relationship with our Heavenly Father, since He cannot be seen with our fleshly eyes. Our prayers accomplish much. They bring us together as Christians in one Body ... the Body of Christ. Together as the Body of Christ we are not easily defeated. ("A threefold cord is not easily broken." Threefold cord ... you, me and God.

Bible Study: Since man is a tri-part being, there are three parts of us that need to be nourished. We eat nutritious food to keep our bodies strong and healthy, but man does not live by bread alone. We need spiritual "food" as well, to keep our spirits strong and healthy. The Bible is the inspired word of God. The Holy Spirit spoke to the hearts of men, and they wrote the words down. Every word of the Bible is truth ... even those words we don't yet understand. God's word is eternal, and will not return void but will accomplish that which God has intended for it to. There are two major divisions of the Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament. "Testament" means "covenant," or "agreement." It is a word that is binding, as in a contract. It will come to pass just as God says. The New Testament is a fulfillment of the Old Testament, rather than a replacement of it. The authority of the Bible is best seen in its title "the Word of God." There is only one God; all others are man made. God's authority is without question.

Why Read & Study The Bible?: We are commanded to study and rightly divide the Word of God. We know someone by their words, and it is the same with God. We get to know Him through His Word. God's word is right and true. God is not a man that He could lie. Therefore, His word is truth, and trustworthy, holy, just and good. It is the lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path. It gives us guidance and instruction, which enables us to avoid pitfalls and troubles. God's Word also gives us wisdom and understanding. Without knowledge of God's Word, we can be easily deceived. God's Word is our defense weapon. It purifies us and points us to Jesus, that we might have eternal life. It brings comfort and hope.
